Can anyone identify this trunk?

I was recently conducting research in northern Canada about 100km from any civilization on an old abandoned winter road when I came across this unusual site, a trunk from an Oldsmobile. I know the road was constructed in the 1940’s, but I’d love to get an idea of when they stopped using the road. So, if anyone can identify approximately what year this car would have been made from just a picture of an old rusted trunk I’ll be very impressed.

Are you sure the rest of the car isn't buried in the Permafrost?

There are a few thousand bugs under that trunk but I don't think there is a car.
