Better stop. The first grade police will shut this down in a minute.

PS: I don't hate on a Tesla at all. But. They have zero zero looks at all. They are so plain looking. Zero style. Did I say zero? Don't hate them but so blah...

Unfortunately, it's not demographically balanced.

you are correct, but demographically balanced would not result in decline, unless from a comet. There is going to be a hollowing out of humanity and in some places it's already happening. In some areas of Europe, maternity wards are shutting down. That's the canary in the coal mine.

Yeah there seems to be a hair trigger with some topics. Or with some moderators. Oh look, now I’m on “the list”.

I know little about them but my coworker with a GM EV shared his thoughts. He’s totally sold on EVs but dislikes Teslas. His biggest gripe and total turnoff was the center mounted touch screen that requires the driver to look to the right at the middle of the dash instead of simply glancing downward. Not putting the critical display screen right in the drivers line of vision is a total fail.

there's just something not quite right about a car with no grille. Looks like something is missing.

My least favorite Toyota is the Echo/Yaris which has the same thing. It is a cheap car, and not even hipster cheap enough to be a Scion; it's just cheap. The idea is to use the same dashboard for left and right drive cars, swap out the screen and move the wheel to the other side. It screams cheap and eurotrash.

You guys are dinosaurs. I do not think engines are evil. Yes, as i said before. Tesla's have no style and horrible names! For ride quality, handling and kick you in the *** accentation. You can not beat an Tesla!
Everyone I talk to who has one, love their Tesla. With the except of an CO member here. My A/C guy just got a Model S. Who had the car drive him and his friends home. After getting drunk.

My long time fire sprinkler contractor has a buddy with Model S Plaid. He races on the ice track, they made on Lake Wisconsin with normal tires. Could not believe how fast it went around the track! He lost it going 90 around this turn. My buddy said the driver did not know how to whip the car around the turn.

Some bat **** crazy things are said by some CO members. Like ''California needs about 5 new nuclear plants out in the desert for power'' Not sure how you cool an nuclear power plant in the desert that has no underground water, river, lake or ocean. Someone can try to explain that comment?

Electric cars are a good second car for commuting if you have a garage and charger. Don't plan on taking one on a road trip yet.

Unless you live in a community where power is generated by nuclear or hydro, they are not environmentally friendly and have a larger carbon footprint than a modern ICE vehicle.

that's why they are a good second car. Don't expect to get your Tesla back in less than 6 months to a year if you get in a fender bender. Can't get parts and a lot of shops won't work on them because of storage. The insurance rates are high because of the rental coverage.

People who have Tesla's. Have the same glow in their eye. As I do when I talk about my Oldsmobile, it real! I did test drive several Teslas here in the new stores and galleries Service Center in Brownsville, TX. I know what I am getting!.

Oh God its UGLY!!! It needs a paper bag

I have the Model Y ordered for two reasons. One the old lady's one eyes is bad. Self-Driving Capability will make life easier for her to get around. And I will worry less, about her getting around.

Second,I am going on a long trip from Texas to the whole east coast. In the spring. To see friends and relatives. Yes I will need to stop every 5 to 6 hours 300 miles +- For 25-30 minutes to supercharge. Which is fine, at 65 I need to use bathroom, something get something light to eat. Computer in car tells you how far and where to stop for charging at Superchargers.

And I can for the first time! Enjoy the views. And not watch everything that is going on around me all the time!

Hope you have a good trip and your Tesla doesn’t end up being one that crashes into a parked emergency vehicle. Let it do its thing, but stay aware and be ready to take over.

Self driving improving all the time. But will be taking over driving in construction zones, heavy traffic and cities

You see videos' of people sleeping in Tesla going down the interstates on youtube. Not me!

John V school of defensive driving, watch out for the other guy!

before you go, check out the Rachel Wolfe article in the WSJ from June 3, 2022 and her 4-day road trip from New Orleans to Chicago and her charging experience. Fast chargers range between 24 kW/HR to 350 and the map doesn't give the capability of the chargers shown.

The title says it all: Spent More Time Charging Than Sleeping.

I use to read the WSJ all the time. But not after Rupert Murdoch's News Corp owns it after 2007. Yea,I am not going to let that bastard from Australia. Playing both sides of Americans for huge profits. Tell me, an American what to think! A lot of so called facts from both sides! To take your money! Do not lose your way in the BS.

Here is a real guy on the street. 1,200 Mile Road Trip With 2 Kids. A little long, but real world. Car was waiting for him. Not the other way around. At $5 + a gallon. And I ordered the Y just before price increases.

Map above is for Super Charges only

So the WSJ editorial board says 'we have a lot of readers who are EV-haters - we need a story for them'. Essential ingredients should include:
  1. A long road trip in a part of the country with no EV infrastructure.
  2. NOT a Tesla.
  3. Actually, let's use the short range city version of whatever car we use. We can claim we thought it was the long range model but in some waffle for plausible deniability in case we get sued.
  4. Let's have some techno-idiots do the driving. Someone who cannot make a sentence with the word kiloWatt-hour and who cannot figure out door handles after 3 days.
  5. print it!
  6. Watch the hater comments light up in joy!

Just canceled my Ford Lighting order. I will sit it out for Tesla Cybertruck.I ordered years ago. If it ever made.

I joint Tesla Y owners on Facebook. There are problems.

First there a huge amount of Teslas are getting rear ended. It is regenerative charging system. If you take your foot off the accelerator. Braking power put charge back into the batteries. Slows the car like hitting the brake, with no warning to drivers behind you.

Second the wheels are like swiss cheese. Almost any curb rash can destroy the wheel and put a nice whole in your tire.

Third, this happen to we passing an Tesla with my 2019 Avalon in Utah last year. As I pass the tesla, the driver turned into my lane, Would of hit me, if I didn't avoid it. It turns out that tesla only has a flashing light in the mirror for cars. Toyota's show flashing car, than warning buzzer fif I turn into the lane. And lastly turn the car back into my lane, So you do not hit the car.

Lastly, Good news for me. I ordered My model Y in April, locked in the price for 61k. Now its going for 69k after price increases. Right now on Carvana and Vroom some are going for 72k with mileage. Best I get it by Sept-Nov. I going to pick it up and sell it that day. Maybe I will get lucky and there will be more price increases.

There's a company here in Oklahoma City making a killing recycling batteries. Tesla, Nissan, Kia, Ford--you name it--they do them all. The owner gave me and my wife a tour at their last Christmas party and I'm telling you what--if I could invest in it, I would. Privately held. There's a gold mine to be....mined. They are scaling up adding another larger facility to go online this year.

Bryan Burch I like a SS body and bullet proof glass. For 9mm anyway. Have the dual motor on order with autopilot. Do not need a truck anymore in life. Wanting to take it to the beach by me. Maybe next year. .

Just picked up an 22 Camry SXE today. Had no new Avalon's.

Tesla is just so far ahead with their batteries. They are having problems making the new 4680 battery. As it being rolled up. Some are denting in.

Also Musk has the ***** to start charging thousands for performance upgrades and charging software upgrades. I no longer want to keep my Model Y.. If he plays that game with the truck. I will sell that for a profit too..

EV's might be the way to go the far distant future. They can't even keep the fricking lights and A/C on in CA. much less charge mass quantities of those God awful EV's. I think that Hybrid's are prety nice.

I was surprised to find this. Mining Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, currently consumes an estimated 150 terawatt-hours of electricity annually — more than the entire country of Argentina, population 45 million.May 4, 2022

Just received this through an industry newsletter, breezed through it and thought it provided some interesting insight.

Yeah, and the overriding message seems to be that as EVs make up more of the fleet, they make up a higher percentage of repair costs. DOH!
Their other conclusion is that vehicles with more electronics cost more to repair. Also DOH!

Somebody had to pay for a study to figure this out?

It is a little hard to follow. As EVs become a larger segment of the North American car parc, the automotive insurance industry is bracing for the impact. Cost to repair is higher for several reasons. Battery cost, lack of aftermarket parts, etc.
Rapid change in raw material prices due to global supply chain disruptions and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Hopefully it will end this winter.

GEICO is charging me $1,596 per year, on the lemon 2022 Camry I returned $2,000 deductible. $2,568 per year on the new 2022 Tesla Y. $500 deductible. I normally take a much higher deductible. But there is no way,I can fix this one myself. Anything over a minor crash can total this car.

Couple things I have not seen brought up about the huge push for electric vehicles.

One: They are not affordable for a huge percentage of families in America.

Two: How many people live in apartments rental houses etc that cannot access somewhere to plug their car in?

I have no issue with people liking electric cars. No different than truck people liking trucks. No different than Oldsmobile people liking Oldsmobile's. To think that the correct take is to push anything on anyone is completely against what America is all about. Internal combustion engines and electric vehicles and diesel engines etc etc all need to get along. You will NEVER have a time within our lifetimes that there are no gasoline burning engines. Won't happen.

I have once or twice said electric vehicles get tax breaks for the rich.
Supercharging has gotten faster after the last update. 29 miles to 300 miles in 30 minutes. At 32.cents a kilowatt. Its is cheaper at home at 14.1 cents a kilowatt now.

Not saving the world. Just like fast, great riding cars.
