Buried Treasure
I just recently bought a 1982 Cutlass Calais 3.8, and just today I looked in the glove box. I found records going back to 1994, and as far as I know, it was in the previous owner's family since 1988. Anyway, while going through the various Schucks Auto Parts receipts, I came across a customer copy of a work order from Evergreen Engine Exchange LTD, and so it reads: 10/14/99
Bore .040 over
Crank .010 under...(illegible)
New pistons, new cam, timing assembly, new lifters, rebuild oil pump, heads complete rebuild, new thermostat, radiator cleaned & tested, new water pump, rebuilt starter, new alternator, new oil pressure sending unit, new belts
Now, I do realize this was 15 years and 40,000 miles ago (91,000 orig. miles!), but still, I think that with all that work, I'll keep this V6 until catastrophic failure
