so i was at the local junkyard today to get a new antenna for my 87 442 and i found not one but two! olds 455s one was in a big 4 door 76 delta and the other was in a gbody. the one in the gbody had j heads and i forgot what heads the full-size had (smoggers most likely). also they had a hatchback cutlass picked mostly clean but a few good body parts. the junkyard was lkq around 147th and western in chicago, il and I'm about to go back tomorrow to see if they turn over... if anybody wants them go and get em before their scrapped id hate to see these things get crushed

 

J heads are the least desirable BBO heads. The blocks would be worth saving though....

 

yea thats kinda what i was thinking, both are missing carbs and rain has been getting into em so they definitely need a rebuild but i still kinda wanna get one just to stash away. i was just really surprised to find even one let alone two considering this yard has mostly newer (than the eighties) cars

 

I am not positive but I think that 74-76? Motors have the not so deep dish pistons be a nice if they are throw good heads and be done in a since
