Body shops in California

It is getting harder and harder to find a shop in the Bay Area, that will work on old cars for any price. I used a shop in Hayward, a couple times to do some touch up. When back about a year ago, and they said the owner, said no more old car, will be worked on. A few years ago, about 5 or 6, my son had his Chevelle painted in Hayward, by a shop called Pepe's, he usually does a car as fill in, so he doesn't have to send his guys home if they have no other work. So it took about 3 months to do, but did a nice job. At the time he was trying to get his son to learn the business, to take over, so not sure what he is doing now. I had seen several cars done by him, and all nice. I would also check with Miracle shops, some do old cars. My son had them give him a price, and all most went with them. The shop that that did a nice 69 W32, car I have seen many times, was done at the Livermore shop, so not sure all their shop do olds cars

You are better off finding a shop as far as away from Bay Area as you can. Shops around here don't wanna paint old cars, and when you find one that does, they charge a small fortune. I've always taken my cars to Sacramento.
Last paint job was done by Strictly Muscle Hobby Shop in Sacramento. https://www.facebook.com/STRICTLYMUSCLEHOBBYSHOP/ .
Unlike most other shops, they are very familiar with Oldsmobiles. If you decide to check them out, speak with Marc, tell him Edin with Shadow Gray 1970 Chevelle sent you. They do good work, fast turnaround and reasonably priced.
I used to live in Sunnyvale, on Fair Oaks and Olive.
Do you attend any local events?

You might try Peter at MAACO in San Leandro (250 San Leandro Blvd, San Leandro). He loves old cars, has a few himself and enjoys working on them. However, like most body shops, his core business is production work for insurance companies. He will charge time and materials for your project, but he'll do a very nice job.

I know some guys that trailered their cars to arizona to get them painted because they still use real paint there (not that low VOC paint they use in CA). Not sure what shop they went to but they looked nice.
