Blower resistor puzzle, I need help.

Blower resistor puzzle, I need help.

Take a look at the pictures. The grey resistor is the original, the black one is the replacement. The wire harness for the original is completely different. What's strange is that the resistor and harness in my manual is compatible with the replacement part. I even spoke with the original owner of the car who claims he's never touched it at all. I entered the part # from the original and all I come up with is a Dorman belt tensioner. Any clues? Original part # is 419214

Blower Resistor Harness

Well here is my 75 H/O 455 w/ AC. It appears to be same harness & switch as you OE.

Early or late year change? Try looking for year before, year after part.

Mine is a 76. The same part appears for 73-77. Yes mine does look like yours.
