Blower Motor Cage

Just wondering if anybody has had any experience in using a later model plastic blower motor cage in the early cars? Not sure if they fit or not but thought I might use one if it does. I figure the less weight on the motor the better. Then again it might not matter, thoughts?

Thanks

I doubt that it matters, so long as it's balanced. The weight difference will exist almost exclusively in terms of inertia, which will be felt only with changes in speed.

I believe that, if balanced, the fan will center itself in the bearing once it's spinning, so the slightly increased downforce on the front bearing shouldn't matter at all.
