Best spark plug/ignition combo opinions

What is considered a good combination for spark plugs & ignition for a 72 350 nowadays? Mine isn't a daily driver but it will see the track sometimes after the engine is rebuilt. I'm tossing around the idea of staying with points or switching to HEI. Also what brand of spark plugs do people suggest?

Are you concerned with stock appearance? If not I would say go to an MSD Pro-Billet distributor and 8mm wires with an NGK plug. Set it and forget it.

i'd at least switch to an HEI distributor, i use autolite plugs and acdelco wires, never had a problem. then again, i'm not racing at a track, i can do that for free on the street! lol

I just finished removing my MSD distributor, MSD 6A box, coil and wires on my 68 442. *I replaced with a stock Olds distributor, points, coil and wires. *I bought the car with the MSD stuff installed. *I set my points using a dwell meter and the timing by driving the car and moving the distributor so it only starts to ping when going up a steep grade at full throttle. *I do not see any difference in performance using the points instead of electronic ignition.

Everyone has different things they want to do. *I enjoy tinkering and points are a good excuse for me to mess with something. *Also I drive my car about 1000 miles a year and the poins do not need attention for a long time for me. *

I will be selling my MSD Set up if any one is interested.

I would take $200 for everything. I reused the coil bracket so that is not included. I would replace the wires but they still can be reused. Everything is in good condition and shipping will be included. Let me know if interested. I can also send pictures.
