Finally purchased an Edelbrock performance 4 barrel carb to replace the stock Rochester 2 barrel carb on my 1966 delta 88 .What would be the best size Edelbrock air filter assembley to run with this setup??

 

Minimum 14" diameter which is pretty much a standard size. Height is personal preference. An open element aircleaner can accept about any height element your hood will clear. I've run many 14x5 or 6 inch tall elements which were easy to find as they are common on trucks.

Keep in mind that although a taller element gives you more effective filtering area, one too tall may influence weird airflow between element and carb airhorn and actually hurt performance.

 

Two ideas if pure originality not critical - Find a factory 4BBL air cleaner even if not the exact year or get any generic open element air cleaner and put the appropriate olds decal on it (was taking picture of the compressor but you can see air cleaner cover). Personal preference only, and don't like the red pleated filter lids and/or small diameter elements.

Cool thanks for the info my buddy said he used to run 10 inch but I think I'll go with 14

 

And a 68-later Olds (and Pontiac, and Buick) factory 4-barrel aircleaner is... 14" diameter!

 

Thinking of putting a 425 rocket sticker on it,ordered a 14" edelbrock one off amazon for a good price

 

Use a 14" us mentioned above you can use the base from a 14" and use your original top, that what I did you end up with a performance air cleaner but it looks stock.

The filter is a flow restriction (and becomes more of one as it becomes dirty). The larger the filter area, the less of a restriction. 14" x 2" is common. 14" x 3" is available for even less restriction.

I took this one step further and painted the air cleaner gold before putting the decal on.
