Well I had another battery go belly up on me! As announced before the 70 supreme the battery went on me 3 weeks ago just shy of 20 years of service.
Now today I went to hit the remote to unlock the Alero and no dice then after unlocking by key and lookup no dome and entry lights are not lite. Twist the key and as thought no joy!

The misses calls the boy who is off because of this crap, you want to do Pat a favor by throwing in new battery? I went with another Delco since that was the original battery and went 16.5 years.

It's been a good run and these have lasted 3 to 4 times more than expected!

Pat, 15+ years of service for a battery is great. Even starting a little I4 or V6 in an Alero.

 

I hate to say this, but you wont get 16 years out of the new battery. One thing that I have noticed the last few years with replacement batteries, is that when they say it is a 3 or 5 year battery, they mean it. Within a month or two of the expiration, that battery will go on you.

 

Were they AGM batteries? A properly maintained AGM will last 10+ years easily. I am not a fan of AGM batteries but they do last a really long time if properly maintained. That said, The original battery in my 91 442 died at the 105th anniversary show in Lansing and it was not an AGM.

 

No both SLA's, I talked with my Interstate driver, he said dollar for dollar/compared to longevity they should be a wash. I went with SLA, the top warranty and CCA's from Interstate and Delco.
