Is it a bad thing...

...that I've now put more miles on my parts car than on my "keeper"?

Although it didn't take much, I've only driven my '71 Cutlass S from the front driveway to the shop in the back due to no brakes or insurance.

Bought a '72 Cutlass Supreme for parts this morning and put about 20 miles driving it home and another 10 taking the family for their first ride in a Cutlass!

Yeah, the parts car has some good stuff for the '71. I just need to figure out if I'm going to part it out or just swap the parts and sell the car as a project to someone. Always hate dealing the death blow to any old car. You're welcome to come around and check it out any time.

I've got the master and wheel cylinders here now, that's the next job as soon as I finish wiring up the trailer lights in the Sienna. Tonight, hopefully!

Looking at the pics, that's not a parts car but you own it so its up to you. That could be a great project for someone. Your call.

The brown (Bittersweet) '71 is the keeper...the parts car is green and I haven't thrown any photos of it up (yet). It's got more cancer, probably still restorable but won't be done by me.

OK. Sorry for the confusion. Every green car I had was as good as a parts car to me. Too much changing color to make it worth it but the ride is good to show family the Oldsmobile experience.

It's always a perk when you can drive a parts and not have to trailer it.

No problems on the confusion, there wasn't enough information to know which was which anyhow!

They're definitely looking forward to cruising in the '71 now though. Should be driving by the end of June, I hope.

now is a good tome to spray the line fittings on the back of the wheel cylinders. it would be nice not to have trouble there.

Good call, Stan. I'll hit them tomorrow after work, and the lines into the master.

Here's the two tucked into the shop for the night. The green '72 is the parts car...looks good from the back, great from the front but terrible from the sides. Rear wheel wells/arches and doors are pretty far gone.

(Anyone wanna buy a VW? I need more space!)
