Bad Luck
Well, I finally got the car back on the road today. Last week I replaced both front (flex) brake hoses and flushed the lines from the front reservoir of the master cylinder. This was inspired by the left front line developing a leak at the caliper. On the test drive I discovered a caliper was dragging (seized), so due to lack of time I parked it for the week and replaced the caliper today.
Test drove it, then drove to O'Reilly to turn in my old caliper for the core charge. Everything went great until I got home. My driveway goes from rock/gravel at the bottom to concrete, as the rear tires bumped up onto the concrete part I goosed the throttle a little bit. That was a mistake, somehow a rather pointed rock aligned just right and punctured a tire. Looks like the car isn't ready for action just yet!
I'll throw it in the truck and take it to Discount Tire tomorrow since it's free there. Hopefully it's plug-able, if I remember correctly from patching tires before it's gotta be no larger than a 1/4" diameter puncture.

Here's the rock... hopefully I'm not SOL with Discount plugging it. If they wont I may take it to my school and attempt a repair there.

That is not bad luck.......... that's a friggin arrowhead you should be able to sell that on ebay for a couple hundred bucks, being it from Arizona it's got to be genuine You did not buy the road hazzard ?, bummer but you still got an arrowhead.

Yow! I have never seen a rock like that puncture a tire! Of course those old Deltas weigh 5000 pounds or so...
I seriously doubt that is pluggable. Even if you have to pay full price for a new tire, at least you can get by with just getting one due to them being so new.
I would check the drive for more rocks like that and hurl them to the garden or someplace away from tires.

Yeah, unfortunately I doubt it is pluggable too. I will probably throw the spare on for now and park it til I get a new one.
My wife is worried about the drive and her car too now. I'll look through the rocks for any more sharp ones. What I think I am going to try to do is get some asphalt mix for the bottom. It's not a huge area, but it's a bit of a slope, I think asphalt would be easier than concrete.

LOL.. no I didn't buy the road hazard like an idiot. I needed tires for it but had a budget. I figured not being my daily driver I would be fine without it. Now I wish I had spent the extra $60 or so since this tire is going to cost me more than that...

Good news!
Just got back from Discount a little while ago. Good news! Not only is there still a prorated road hazard warranty if you don't purchase the certificates for free replacement, they cover the tires 100% for 90 days after purchase. Mine were bought on August 10th so I was well covered. Got the new tire on there, and as a bonus I decided to finally adjust the idle mixture screws and the car runs great!
Good thing this happened so soon after I bought them, they had barely lost the rubber "hair" on them, so no mismatched sizing. So it has a happy ending after all, especially because I didn't have to dish out the cash for a tire. There will be plenty of other things I'd rather spend the money on for this car, the list goes on and on....
