Auto parts closing
A local parts house is shutting down and selling all of the old stock. He has been in business since mid 80's at this location and longer at another spot. I saw lots of older oils, and chemicals. Some chemical additives I do not recognize. I will try to get information on this stuff. I have already requested info on Olds hard parts. He hasn't really inventoried what all he has and might not as he is in his 80's. Has a daughter and grandson helping but they don't know anything on reading part books. Might be able to score some good stuff.

Ed, I would be looking at the AC Delco parts if he has any, like plugs, ignition stuff, solenoids, senders and switches. Old stuff was USA made and different with better quality materials. An old Delco dimmer switch for example, like a 70 Cutlass was taller than what you buy now, they bring good $. A place like that might have old dist caps laying around. Old tie rods are good quality like Mcquay or TRW. You never know.

Some of the parts books may be worth grabbing; particularly those with descriptions and cross references in the back. I'ld be interested in any engine parts catalogs with descriptions/dimensions.

I don't think any of the parts books are going to be for sale for a while. He still needs them to look up numbers. Might be for sale as his stuff dwindles down.

I hate to hear of any local-owned business closing but I understand folks wanting to retire.
If he has any old-stock electrical and ignition stuff that's always worth looking into. Same with brake parts.
