Aussie classic addition to the shed.

Hi there,
As I have had a few requests to see the new addition to the shed from a few friends off here, thought I would throw some pictures up. This is a classic Australian icon. 1975 Ford XB Falcon 500 2 doorhardtop.

That Aussie Ford Falcon style is more in line with the 1970-71 Ford Fairlane/Torino produced in the U.S.

To me, it's more like the 1972 Gran Torino Sport. :twocents:

It's my understanding this generation of Falcons are more stylish than the earlier ones, but the Phase III GT-HO of the previous generation is the fastest. . . correct?

Thumbs up

Very NICE! I like all 1967- mid 1970s Ford Falcon GTs
I am big a fan of the 1971 Falcon XY GTHO Phase III, 1972Falcon XA Phase 4 (only four made), and the 1972 Charger R/T E-49!

USA Mags was originally started in the 60's by Parnelli Jones and Art Hale Sr., his crew chief. Ansen was one of the companies they bought up in the 70's along with several others. USA Mags Ansen version is now called the 'Indy'. Interesting to note is USA Mags also bought American Racing who became one there biggest sellers.
Art Hale Jr. reacquired USA Mags in 2010

Your telling me?!
I drove in the U.S when visiting there in 2000.
Got used to it fairly quick. Now with the Olds I have still left hand drive on our roads, nothing to it. Only took a few hours driving to get into it. No dramas. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Very cool. Every since I watched Mad Max as a kid I liked the 1972-78 Australian Falcon. These Falcons look similar to the US 1970-71 Torino. Yet from the pictures I have reviewed, only the steering wheel is the same component.

Have fun with your latest purchase!

Have the Hardtop listed on evilbay Australia.
6754 views after 9 days
600 watchers (got a photo of that)
$33000.00 after 40 bids.

Gee, I wonder if there are any bodgey play arounds on there??

For some lite entertainment, grab a beer or 2 and read the Q's n A's. Classic.
