Anyone a member of Goodguys?

I know 71Rocket did a post about car club membership recently. However, I was wondering if anyone here is a member of Goodguys? I have been considering joining. What benefits do members receive? Have you attended one of the Goodguys Regional shows and entered your car in the car show/show & shine?

Just thinking that it might be a neat group to join. I don't know if I would fit in though. I drive a 4 door hardtop and it is a 71 (1 year before they cut off membership). Let me know what you think.

Been a member for several years. Its worth it for just the Goodguys Gazette. Its a monthy large magazine crammed full of pictures every issue.

The Lone Star Nationals in October is by far the best yearly car happening in this area.

Gearhead, I was looking on their website and noticed that they have the yearly get together in Fort Worth, TX. Is this the car show you are talking about? Have you ever been to one of their functions before? Do they have all sorts of cars or does everyone drive a Chevelle, Mustang, or Charger? Just trying to do a little research before I decide to join.

Yes that is it. Probably 3000 or so cars and growing. All makes and models. Of coarse there is more Chevelles and Camaros than Delta 88's but thats just based on more people are building them.

You will see lots of street rods, traditional rods, customs, muscle cars etc.
Truely something for everyone.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I am going to join. I will probably attend the Fort Worth, TX get together in the fall. Of course, it might just be me, the wife, and the kid in the VW Beetle if the Olds isn't running well yet, but I will be there.

Been a member for about 10 years. It is a good deal for me, I live in Bay Area Ca, and they have about 4 show here each year. For $25 per register price, you get into the show, for both days, and you get enterence for two people. so much cheaper than going as a non member. Lots of times we have 3 or 4 in the car and they don't charge and more for the extra people. Plus you get to have your car in the show area, which is so much safer than in the parking lot, been lots of cars stolen or parts missing setting in the parking lot. Us Olds guys usally try to all get together, save spots to park toghther.

I won the grand prize drawing 4 years ago at the Lone Star Nationals which was a key to start the give away 32 roadster. 9 months later Goodguys flew me and my wife out to Pleasington for the nationals along with 14 other qualifiers from thoughout the USA. My key didn't start it but it was a great experience and the fairground where they have the show is beautiful. I would go again in a second given the chance.

I have heard good things about Goodguys. Now I just have to fill out the application form and send it in.
