Anyone ever just replace the rear window on their convertible top?

I was looking at this site that sells amongst full top kits, a rear window kit for convertible. Thats all I really need for mine.

Has anyone ever done this?

It is common to only have the rear window done the plastic ones always went cloudy quick.

The job itself shouldn't be a big deal (though you'll have to disassemble your top a bit to do it), but remember that the key trouble spot when replacing just the window is that the zippers on the new window and the old top won't mesh up.
Check the zippers first, and if they don't mesh, you may need to try a different brand of window curtain.

Thanks Eric,

So I am assuming if I don't have zippers, I am screwed.

I did email the company and ask about the product before I bought it, so just waiting for a response.

You would have to get in contact with an upholstery shop that can perform that service for you. I've done it on old Jeeps!!

Yeah you are right.

I spoke to the company that sells the window and they mentioned it takes removing the existing staples and re-installing new ones. I don't think my desktop swingline stapler gonna cut it.

Just an FYI - I bought this piece for my Cutlass and had it installed today. Worked out great, $200 for install and I think it was $100 for the part. I am very happy with it.

I will follow up with a pic tomorrow.

I'm a little late here but I did just my rear window. Someone had replaced the top years ago and never did the back window. It was literally falling out but the top was in pretty good shape. It took me about 4-5 hours to get it right. BTW 68 is a glass window with no zippers
