M2Reeves - DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

http://www.transportreviews.com/review/00042827.asp

This company hasn't been in business much longer then a year
and they bought the phone # for the LARGEST negative complaint
auto transport company allegedly. I am beginning to think it's the same
company just relocated with BS reviews written by their employee's.

I just don't know which way to go with this hand in life i've been dealt.

Anyone have any suggestions??
In IL the Small Claims court is $5,000 and under.
There is surface rust on the bare steel where the metal buckled and
the driver said he drove through torrential rainstorms so it surface rusted.

I have documentation showing the vehicle was in pristine order when the
driver picked it up and did a walkaround and signed off, AND I have a police
report CLEARLY showing the driver stated the damage occured "Somehow"
after he picked it up.

That is a bummer. I haven't heard good things about auto transport companies. It makes me think that if I ever buy a car from across country I will fly out and drive it home or tow it with a U-Haul. Good luck with your troubles. First thing to do might be to hire a lawyer.

Dumb question de jour

Who [if anyone] regulates these transport companies.

I too had a car damaged by a transport company. I got shafted.Car was just for parts, but still a bummer. In hindsight I should have gone and picked it up myself. I will NEVER use a transport company again.

Did you have the car insured? I know it sounds crazy but its cheaper to use your insurance then to hire a lawyer. Sad deal, thats why I flew to Kansas to pick up my 48 on a U-haul and bring it home myself.

Unfortunately , No , I did not have it insured yet.
I just bought it the week before it was transported from my Uncle.
In retrospect, I NOW know I should have insured it BEFORE it left North Carolina.

I could have let the insurance company subrogate the claim in court for me.
But nope.....I'm screwed.

Just because you didn't have it insured doesn't mean you are screwed. At least talk to a lawyer. It might be worth taking the company to court if they aren't going to help you fix the damage. Good luck.
