Has anyone dealt with ecanopy before? Was looking for a non-permanent shelter to keep the Olds under during the spring and summer, and came across this. Sounds like a good deal, but I've never heard of them before.
I had one. The first thing I did was cut the legs down, so it was not so tall. Then anchor it to the concrete, not just weight it down. Then when the canvas wears out, I replaced it with the plastic corrugated panels that Home Depot or Lowes sells,This worked real good, Where I live I had it beside house and the fence. Most of the time the comes from the west, so I put the panels on the back side. I also covered the side more to where the sun would not hit the car. Then for years, I stored my trailer there and put stuff on top of it, so had great storage. Just moved, going to do the same thing now for my trailer, but will make it out of PVC pipe, and cover it with the plastic panels.
Sorta have one, legs are sunk into the ground about a foot and the canvas top has a gray plastic cover that goes over it to the ground on all sides. This canopy has a stout metal tube frame and the plastic helps the snow slide off quite easily. It will take upto 2 feet of our Sierra cement but it kinda looks like the Squatleys live next to my house The Mitia doesn't seem to care as long as it is dry and out of the the u v.... Tedd
BIL has one in his backyard in Midland TX. The weather extremes there go from around 10 in the winter to 100 plus in summer. Has had his up for over four years. Has it weighted down with buckets of sand (plentiful there) to hold it in place during wind. Works for him. I would recommend one for temporary duty.
Thanks for all of the input guys. I think that I'm going to hold off on this and continue putting money back for an actual metal structure that will hold up better against the weather.
