Story of my life. I buy something, keep it a few years and find some reason I should sell, gas prices, economy, job uncertainty. In the case of my trucks it was gas prices or fear of rust, with my Harley it was weather, with this car I know it will need painted sooner or later ( even though it looks awesome) because of the solvent pop in the paint. I'm told keep it waxed and everything will be ok but I can't paint it myself and am too picky to leave it as is, it seems ( in my twisted mind) it would be better in the hands of someone who could make it perfect so this car would be around for many more years. A lot of people before me kept papers and documentation on it because they knew it was special.

More

I thought about stripping and repainting it myself but the last car I painted was a79 TransAm. Lacquer. I love the smell of auto paint but don't think for a minute I could replicate the mirror Finnish on my car now. I can't believe the person who painted it could make it look like a mirror but not know how to cure it properly. If it does not sell I am going to strip it down myself.

You should def. sell the car to someone who doesn't think a car needs to be perfect and holy in every way in order to be worth having. It'll be better all around; you get paid, no more short circuits in your brain, and someone else who is less "discriminating" can be tickled pink with the car. I've had cars that have caused me the same angst, and always felt better when they were gone. Then again, I probably wasn't loved enough as a child! Just remember, perfection is over-rated and doesn't really exist on Earth anyway.

Lists tomorrow afternoon

Love the car, just not used to having one so close to perfect that I'm afraid to use it or park it anywhere. I find myself looking to improve it more and more. If I get another one later, it will be more of a driver.

The ad starts today after 1:00 pm. The paint is not mentioned in the ad but they assure me serious buyers will be informed before they buy it. Most people don't notice it until I mention it and even then you have to look at certain angles to see it. Not everyone will be concerned by it especially because of how good it looks. See for yourself by the pictures in the ad. Motoexotica has a good reputation and an A rating with the BBB. That is why I chose them to sell it.

Car sold in four days. Buyer was told about paint and asked for free shipping as a concession. Personally I would have(and did go see it before I bought). Car is going to Cedar Rapids. Was told new owner was buying for sunny day use and insisted on closed transport. I was glad to hear that. Anyone who sold a car long distance and shipped it to the buyer probably knows how nervous I am right now. When I bought it the transport broke down half way and I had to wait a few days till they could get another one to finish the delivery. The car had bugs on the front like it was driven. Always wondered about that.

OK buyer melted down because of difficulty finding transportation. He thought it could be delivered next day after paying. Understandable to be nervous after putting that kind of cash out but transportation companies are not controlled by sellers or consigners. Any who on to the next buyer.

Yikes.. I was just about to congratulate on the Sale .

Put in a quick call to Passport Transport . I used them in Feb of this year , and they were almost too fast .. Based out of MO. I believe , they will respond within 24 hours . Call 1 - 888 - 777 - 2123 .
My car was done perfect . Best of luck... JT
