alternator decode

I have a 71 442. AC, heavy duty cooling. I have a Delco Remy alternator that I replaced on the car with :
1100890 55A
OF 18 12V NEG

Can anyone tell me what alternator this is and How I decode it?
What the right one is for my car?
Where does one find part numbers for items like these such as: water pumps, distributers, carbs etc...?

Thanks for the reply but I have their book "442 by the numbers" and it does not cover anything on alternators if that is what you mean?
I sometimes see people talk about parts and their part numbers on this site and was curious where they derived the info from.

Part #s can also be had from Olds Service Parts books and assembly manuals.

I believe you mean 1100890. What issue? My '74 book issued June '74 still has 1100554 for that application. Number 1100890 is a little higher number than any other number then, so it came on stream later than June '74.
April '76 edition does not have 1100890, so by then, it was already superseded by 1102849!

So if 1100890 is correct, we have 1100554, 1100890, and 1102840 all being correct numbers for a '71 442 with A/C or HD cool. And it is possible that none of these numbers are the same as what was originally on the car, certainly not 1100890 or 1102840.

Great illustration of what happens with part numbers and part research!!
