I got a PM today asking how to tell if a car's AC system has the superheat switch that goes with the thermal limiter fuses BeenThere is selling.
Most 1970s GM cars have them and Cadillac was using them as early as 1962.
The things are designed for compressor protection if the refrigerant charge goes low but, as those of us who have them know, the things will often fail for no good reason and usually on the hottest day of summer when you're on the road.
This is from the 1976 CSM. Hope it helps everyone. *edit* Can someone rotate the CSM pictures so they're easier to read?
This is the location of the fuse on my 1976 Ninety Eight.
