Air cleaner top

Air cleaner top

Ram air air cleaner top
Hey guys is there a rubber gasket that goes in between the top plastic part and the base?

Because it wants to slide sides ways some time L

There is a channel in the plastic top where it fits over the lip of the steel air cleaner housing. Aftermarket reproductions have a round-section gasket in the channel. The factory put a taller, square-section, rubber gasket in that channel.

Removing the gasket gains a bit of clearance to the hood. That may be what happened to yours.

The gasket is available from various repro parts suppliers. Made by SoffSeal (I think......need to double check).

The gasket is for the "standard" non-OAI air cleaner LID.....also works for the plastic flapper unit you're asking about.
