aftermarket ss1 rims

I would like some feedback on the repro ss1 rims by wheel vintiques and specialty wheel. Is one better quality than the other? I am going with 15x7 rims and would like some info from anyone that has experience between the two. Thank you.

The chrome sucks on the Wheel Vintiques, and the black will flake off.

so researching on web, people say Coker purchased WV.?? On coker"s site, the SS1's listed are branded under specialty wheel. Can anyone clear this up? I have read the comments about absurdly long waits for these rims.

15x7 on front and 15x8 on the rear. No complaints. These are Wheel Vintiques installed about 5 years ago. Look as good today as they did when I installed them. I bought them from Summit Racing and the 8" wheels had some very minor paint and chrome issues. Called Summit and they sent me a return shipping label. They sent new ones that were perfect, all on their dime.

I have a full set of 15x7's on my 442 that I installed about 7 or 8 years ago. Purchased directly from Wheel Vintiques. They're still in like-new condition but the car does live in the garage mostly. Daily use could change that.
I attempted to put a set on my Cutlass during COVID. The frustration in dealing with WV for close to 2 years ultimately led me to cancel the order and swear off WV forever. Yes, they were purchased by Coker but they manufacture and sell independently as well. Their management is a complete train wreck. Everything from supply chain to sales. No straight answers, empty promises, you name it. I'm not trying to bad mouth them, just being honest in my experience with them. I'll never consider giving them another penny of my money.

I went with a set of American Racing VN501 and never looked back. Received the wheels within 3 weeks of placing the order - with tires mounted and balanced. Great quality and they look fantastic on the car. Look enough like the SSI to capture the look but different enough to be unique. WV jerked me around for about a year and a half with empty promises of 'waiting for hoops', 'you're on the schedule', 'build date is scheduled for October'... Best thing I ever did was cancel that order. I attempted to give the rep a little 'constructive criticism' a SEMA back in Nov. and he was surprised I had any problems. What a joke.

I recently purchased a set of 14x6 ss1 from wheel vintiques and they look great. I know they were out of stock for a long time but I think wheel vintiques is starting to get there s**t together.

Long term review:

I have had WV 14 X 7 SS I's on my '69 for over 15 years now, Chrome has held up well; there are a few minor scratches in the black paint -- it is kind of delicate. Overall, they still look good. For maintenance, all I do is clean them if they get dirty and wax them every fall when I put the car away for winter.
