Aftermarket carbs

Ok, need a little advice on choosing a carb for my 1980 Regency 4 barrel 350.
I want to replace my 4 barrel quadrajet with something new that I will also be able to tune for my future build which will be a 403 with edelbrock heads. Goal being a 400hp/450ft Lbs daily driver. I want to drive my car while building the engine. I know that build is old as dirt but i have had the engine for a long time now and it's something I have always wanted.
Back to the topic. I want a carb I could relatively slap on and go with the ability to build up and tune in the future.

Thanks guys!

That will be the best 800 cfm Qjet core but definitely needs to be tuned, especially the idle circuits. Either a Street Demon 750 or one of the Quickfuel 750 cfm carbs would be a couple to seriously consider.

I would usually suggest an Edelbrock Thunder AVS because in my experience they're more streetable than a Holley. If you want a carburetor that you can build later then go with a Holley Street Avenger. Definitely do NOT get a Summit carburetor. They are a POS. I don't know anything about a Demon or Quickfuel.

I actually have a very good Qjet 800 cfm core sitting in a box just for my 403 build. I was getting parts from Cliff Ruggles and reading his Qjet rebuild book but life took a slight left so I gave up. But I might just get back on that. Thanks! I might get the demon 750 just to get on the road.

I was looking at those Edelbrocks. I remembered I have a very good Qjet core that I was building using Cliff Ruggles parts and book. I'm going find a carb to slap on just to get on the road until I finish my Qjet. Thanks for the help man!
