AED Performance Carbs Recommendation

I'm looking at anyone's experience with this brand of carb. It's been recommended by my engine builder as a great fit not requiring an electric or mechanical choke. He's had great success with them both for street use(my use) and strip. His recommended carb is the HO series AED 850 HO.
Any additional ideas welcome since I was looking at quick fuel or barry grant demons as carb selections both for performance and cost.

OK how about I rephrase the question given that this doesn't appear to be a popular street carb given the # of views with no replies...if I wasn't going with this carb what would be the carb of choice for the members here for street use with the once in a blue moon strip test with my brother. Want nice out of the hole acceleration with fuel economy if needed when just cruising. Thanks again for any suggestions and comments.

The problem is there is no right or wrong answer. They are all good carbs in my opinion. I run a plain ol 3310 Holley on mine and it suites me just fine. I also have a 750dp and a hi rise single plane manifold on the shelf if I want to ever take it to the track.

I'm with Eric on this, I run an edelbrock on my 76 350 and it works great but others don't like them.

You just described a quadrajet. Lots of carbs out there with lots of opinions. Get the one you (or your brother or mechanic) are most comfortable working on. If mostly street use I would lean towards something with vacuum secondaries.

Thanks guys...appreciate the comments. I'll keep digging and try to come up with the best package as per the builder and mechanic. I guess at the end of the day they'll have a good idea on what works best based upon the rebuild...I'll check back and let you know what I eventually went with. Cheers.

I really like the Quick Fuel carbs, it seems like the best bang for the buck.
