75 Delta Royale update
Just found a useful link to GM vin decoder. My newly delivered 75 Delta Royale was advertised for sale as a 350 4bbl. My vin shows an engine code "T" = 455 4bbl. Wow, a sweet deal just got even sweeter. Here's the vin and the decoder. Am I reading this right ?

Why on earth did you go to a decoder when all the information is available right here and way more likely to be correct?![EEK!](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
3= Oldsmobile Division
N= Delta Royale (all 1971-75 Delta convertibles are Royales)
67= Fisher-speak for convertible
T= 455-4bbl (what was installed at the factory)
5= 1975 model year
M= Lansing MI assembly
then the car's sequential VIN
Show us the data plate underhood and we'll decode that for you too!
Give us numbers off the engine between intake and water pump, and the letter or number at the front of the left cylinder head. I'm pretty sure it still has its 455, but we can tell you for sure if it isn't.

Yes. That number is consistent with a '72 to '76 455. See the page below.

On your body cowl tag, I can't identify any of the codes except for the 3C, which would indicate a third week (C) of March (3) build date. That would be March 1975. The 3BN67 is part of the VIN, and the LAN####### means built at Lansing with the number being the body sequence number. If you're thinking of looking for the car's build sheet, be aware that history says that Lansing-built cars did not have them as the instruction at that plant was that they not be left in the car.

3C= 3rd week March 1975
64= Persimmon Poly Metallic
11W= white vinyl interior
AM6= 60-40 power bench seat with center armrest
11= white top R= convertible (T is vinyl top, U is painted top)
19X is pretty common in those years and best as we know it indicates Compaticolor interior (white seats & side panels with carpet & dash matched to car color), though I've seen it on a number of Hurst/Olds with all black interior.
Look at the left front side of your engine, behind the PS and alternator brackets adn just below the cylinder head. There is a machined pad there that has a VIN derivative of the car in which it was originally installed. If it matches your VIN, it is the original engine. Engine should have J heads.
