72 olds dual gate

72 olds dual gate

can anybody explain to me how does the dual gate manually side shifter work.

It's for racing it lets you shift from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd. Without shifting into nuetral over revving the engine. Just open the gate by pushing the door to open than push the shifter over than down to 1st.

I had Dual Gate about 10 years ago, sold it for 25 dollars I kick myself know that have a Cutlass to put it in.

It's pretty simple to use. There are "positive" stops when you shift up. You kind of need to put some "oomph" behind it for it to function. If you just gingerly push the lever forward it won't work properly.
