71 Cutlass Quarter Window Trim

Hey guys, my rear quarter window chrome trim and seal came off yesterday when my dad rolled the window down. I tried to stick it back on but couldn't get it to go. Is it something special I have to do or do glue or something holds it on. Thanks.

There's a special 1/32 tape that goes between the glass and chrome trim. I'm on the IPad right now so I'll check my desktop later and find the name of the product for you. It's relatively cheap but comes in a roll that has way more than you need.

If you stop by your local automotive glass shop, ask if you can buy some 1/32 glass tape (they'll probably give it to you). It is kind of an asphalt or oil base stuff about an inch and a half wide. Use some masking tape on the edges and wrap the glass tape around the edge of your quarter window. Put some oil on the tape (it gets messy and sticky) then press your chrome sash onto the glass use a little rubber mallet and seat it. Remove tape and trim excess glass tape.

Possibility Tom. On the other hand, here's a link to a company that sells it called Restoration Specialities See page 37 of new catalogue, and apparently they sell by the foot so it's pretty cheap.
