What is used to install this trim onto the glass? I was thinking some sort of sealant is put into the chrome then pressed onto the glass, but not sure.

 

I've always used a butyl tape. Never had any issues but perhaps someone know of something better.

 

It's glass tape. IIRC 1/32 thickness. Your local glass company should have some. It gets wrapped around the leading edge of the glass, then the chrome pressed over top. Trim any tape that extends vetoed the chrome afterwards. This tape comes in various thickness so important to get the right thickness.
