'70 cutlass rear spoiler/wing

I am restoring a '70 Cutlass Supreme Convertiable. The prior owner had it mostly dissaembled before I bought the car. After working on the engine/brakes/etc of the car for about a year I just got it back from having it painted and now starting to put it back together.

Since I didn't take it apart I am finding areas where I am not sure if I am missing parts.

The prior owner had installed the rear wing/spoiler and them removed it before I bought the car so the mounting holes are already on the trunk lid. I was getting ready to reinstall the wing but am wondering tf there is a gasket that goes between the bottom of the wing post and the trunk lid or is it just metal/fiberglass to metal? From what I have seen online it apprears there is no gasket.

Also, looking online I see mention of 3 mounting studs. The spoiler I have only has 2 studs and there are only 2 holes in the truck lid.

I know that the rear spoiler was not factory on this car but I am going for a driver and not a show car.

thanks,

Pat

There is no gasket, and while factory wings used three fasteners per side, most repro wings only use two.

Hi Joe,

I have the same question about the rear corner metal pieces that are just outside of the trunk lid on both sides...is there a gasket or just metal to metal fit?

Thanks,

Pat

Part # 9981145 is a synthetic resin plastic thumbgrade sealer. I cannot validate what constitutes a "wad".

A "wad" is smaller than a "glob" , but bigger than a "dab"

Now, I do know what a wad of bills relates to. Although, I'd prefer a wad of hundreds as opposed to a wad of ones.

I know a guy that used to shoot his wads. He said it was glorious fun.

I bought my rear spoiler from Fusick. It's just like the pic in the assembly manual, 3 studs on each side with the middle long one going all the way through the pedestals to the wing. They also supply a full size template for drilling the holes.
