Quick question, are the 69 and 70 cutlass hoods interchangeable? I’m looking to purchase a hood for my 70 town sedan and the sellers picture shows a 69 hood with the “Oldsmobile “ lettering on the drivers side. Thanks.

 

The hood with raised humps and grills near the windshield look the same on top. But the latch system for 1969 and 1970 are different. I have seen aftermarket 1970 OAI hoods on 1969's but am not sure what they did to make the hood latch work.

 

FYI 1970 hoods that originally came on a 442 would also have the Oldsmobile emblem on the drivers side. Cutlass's had the Oldsmobile emblem on the grill but 442 had 442 numbers on the grill so they moved the Oldsmobile emblem to the hood for brand identification.

I have a 70 hood if you interested. It’s a 70 cutlass S Matador red. I live in south Jersey

 

I will be picking up 2 70 hoods, possibly later this week.

Patton you are correct 70 442 did not have the 442 emblems on the grills like 71-72 it was on the hood tooth. They did however have the Oldsmobile emblem on the hood.
