70 A/C firewall insulation pad? GRRR!

I got a firewall insulation pad from inline tube. It is for a 70 442 A/C car. This thing is not even remotely close to being correct and will not fit. I thought maybe they give me one for a Chevelle but after looking them up it is the same part number. Anyone know where to get one that fits or are they all made by the same people? Anyone else had this problem? I don't think it could even be modified to work it is so far off.

I had the same problem when I was working on my red 66, although mine does not have AC. The first one I tried wasn't even close. I then purchased one from am-autoparts on eBay and it fit almost perfectly. Here is a link to one for 68-72: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Firewall-Ins...item565cf4c59d

Thanks but that is for a non A/C car. I can't find where he has one for an A/C car. Do you know what brand the one was you got from them?

From the picture of that one I can see that it is more correct on the driver side than the one I have. Just need it for an A/C car.

I'm sorry, I don't recall the brand. You might try to contact him and see if he can source one for your AC car.

I used a REM pad for my 66 A/C car and it fit great. Try Jim Michael @
http://www.classic-olds.com/

He has REM pads and is a great guy to deal with. Tell him I sent you.
