70 442 W35 on CL
Seen this on CL. Is it a real w35? Never seen it stamped on a cowl tag. Any other thoughts? Planning to check it out this weekend.

Seems like this add is suggesting the w35 is a performance package similar to w30, w31 or w32. As far as I know w35 was only rpo code for the rear spoiler nothing else. If your asking if the spoiler is OEM, it would have three studs per pedistal, which “most” aftermarket ones only have two studs.

W35 is the RPO code for the optional wing. There's no such thing as a "W35 car", which should be the first indication that the seller is full of it and thinks he has a rare car worth a million bucks. Without the build sheet, there's no way to know if the wing was factory installed or not (assuming it's even a factory wing and not a repro). It's a Linden, NJ car, so it spent at least some of it's life in the rust belt before it got Calif plates. He does appear to have the original block, however.

Another example of the non-Lansing plants using oddball codes on the cowl tag. Keep in mind that this is a Linden car. Fisher Body would have been responsible for drilling the deck lid for the wing. Unfortunately this seller is convinced that this is some rare billion-dollar car. It's going to be for sale for a while.

Thanks for the input! Been trying to find a pdf version of the CSM to check the codes/numbers when I get there. Does anyone have those pages they can send pics to me. Mostly interested in the engine code, carb code, and trans code.
Also, I'm guessing you don't think this car is worth 15k lol. I just bought my 69 442 which I'm still working on but I seen this 70 442 4speed and had to jump on it. What would you offer? What is your ballpark estimate to restore? Worth it?
