hahaha 70 442 "good bones"

Typical northern rust belt car. The car does have value, just how much is the question. The interior is decent and if the hood is in good shape. Some of the underneath looks OK, some not so much. My 70S honestly wasn't a ton better for rust and the interior was mouse filled. I paid $1500 Canadian, $500 too much, wife made an offer, I was going to say $1000, I knew the work involved. Of course that is Canadian $, which is what $5 US.

You used to see cars like that around here all the time. They have been left in barns or just outside. It's such a shame. You see a 70 442 in a yard in 1977, knock on door and ask about it. "No I'm going to fix that up someday". See it there for a few years recheck on it in 1982- same answer. Still there in 1985- same answer. Still in 1999- "No my son is going to fix it up this year-for sure". Check again in 2008- No. Owner dies in 2017. Family decides to sell Dad's old car- rusty piece of sh##! Happens over and over. I think that's why there are so many "barn finds" now. They finally become for sale after the death of the owner. There is a 71 or 72 Montego 2 door that has set out in the back yard of my neighbor since at least 1982, that's when I moved here. Their house is 100 ft from the Maple river- wet-wet-wet. I wonder what that thing looks like? Rusty bones!!
