68/69 Vacuum Trunk Release

Hey Y'all!

Ive been trying to find photos on the internet of the button location for the Vaccum Trunk release, and was just wondering if anyone out there has that option in their car, and or has any photos of where it actually mounts up. Google comes back with tons of options on the actual button, but not where it goes. If anyone has any photos if its mounting location, that would be great!

There should be an existing hole in the metal dash frame.

Here are a couple of pics. My '68 doesn't have this option and what you see in the space where the remote button goes are two dimples. My '69 has the remote trunk opener option and those two dimples are covered. It appears to me from Joe's picture from the assembly manual the hole for the remote button is drilled from the lower dimple if you are installing a system in a car that currently does not have the remote trunk opener option. As well, if you are installing one on a car that currently does not have it, make sure you have the correct piece that connects into you lock cylinder and goes through the trunk lock to the vacuum opener piece as the standard piece won't work.

This is really helpful. I found one of the systems in a spare box that I never went through, and was thinking about installing it, but I never figured out where it went. Now I know, and ill most likely end up doing it.
