67 Turnpike Cruiser

Hi fellow Oldsers. Looking at a 67 Turnpike cruiser. All appears to be stock right down to the Temp controlled air cleaner. My question is would it have had a 442 symbled grille? I know that suspensions were one and the same with the 442, but the grille? Let me know. Thanks

A turnpike is NOT a 442 -- It is a Cutlass with a 400 engine ( a la 442). if im not mistaken all trim is Cutlass - not 442!

You are correct Tweed. In 1967 the Turnpike Cruiser package came on the Cutlass Supreme. In 1968 it came on the 442. 67s got the Cutlass grille and trim.

I have been watching the price on this Pa. car drop. It has been for sale for a long time and overpriced at 1st but now in my opinion the money is right for someone looking for a project. This car is cool as it has the Rallye pack and conv frame. Now in primer it was a turquoise car with light bench seat interior. Someone wanted to clone it into a 442 and added the grill and for some reason the PRNDSL dash bezel has been changed to a 2 speed auto one. I would love to have this car but the garage is full. Keep us posted...

Just to clarify, the trim is specific to the Cutlass Supreme. The Cutlass is a different model with different trim. The like the TPC, the 442 was also an option on the Cutlass Supreme. They all share the same body side molding.
The TPC trim is purely Cutlass Supreme. The is no external (or interior) differences.

April 67 Hot Rod had an article called four of a kind, 3 442s and a TC.
