67 Toro Front Wheel Bearings

Does anyone have experience replacing the front wheel bearings on a 1967 Toronado? On Part # 907770, the bearing is larger that the opening. Is the outside band just to hold the assembly together, and to support the bearing while being pressed in? Thanks for your help!!

the 66 used a huge double ball bearing, but i believe the 67 went to 2 roller bearings bottom to bottom so the outer band so to speak would be the outer race.

Problem solved! Someone changed the spindle/hub on my 1967 Toro with one from a 1970 Toronado. Front wheel bearings are different for the 1967 and 1970.

I believe the 66-68 used the single large bearing. 69 and up went to the double bearing with the spacer in between.
