66 Club Coupe

http://manitoba.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...AdIdZ231096940

Check out this link and note the Hurst Equipped decal on the left rear side of the trunk.

Does anyone know if this is authentic to this car? Also could you get a 4 speed with a 330 in '66?

Thanks

I dont think they started making H.O.s until 68. Yes you could get the 4sd with the 330. It does look nice (in the pics) But 25K, IDK

Those Hurst emblems are a recent "invention" and some sellers have used them to create pedigrees out of thin air. you could get a 4 speed. Being a Cutlass, the SN should start 338076 for a Sports Coupe.

Stan and Wes

Yes took my car to the A&W two or three times but I need get it running cooler - have to get a shroud on. Also have a noise in my steering - sounds like something is hitting something when I turn tight - plus as you know a bunch of other small stuff. Not sure the end carbs are cutting in when they should but am going to get that all sorted this winter.

Its a honey though - I love it!!!!

Thanks for asking.

Pat

and right again.

The HO badging for Olds started in 68 and that particular emblem is self adhesive that doesn't really have any "OLDS" attachment to it at all. I could stick one of those HO emblems on my car too, but that doesn't make it a Hurst. And it doesn't constitute a 'full restoration' to stick it on there. The wheels -although Olds- are wrong for 66 too. Little details like that and the inclusion of that emblem tends to speak to an oversight in the knowledge required for a complete resto on this car. Maybe I should say it speaks to the lack of knowledge for an accurate restoration. It's a pretty car, but I don't think I'd spend 25 large to get it. A full blown body off complete and accurate Resto always costs more than what the car is worth, and doesn't make the car worth that much money. It's in the eye and heart of the owner, plus the prestige at some car shows.

The rest of the car appears to be badged correctly as a Cutlass.

That's what I thought too Allan. I hate to see a nice car with non original stuff like that on it.

I special ordered a white F85 Club Coupe in 1966. I ordered it with the 330-320 motor but I could only get the three speed synchro on the column - 4 speed or a floor shift was not an option in Edmonton from the Olds dealer on Jasper Ave. Selling that car was one of the mistakes I made in my life. I saw it four or five years later and it made me sick to look at it because whoever had it was abusing it.

The white door panels are incorrect with the black seats. Unless it's a Canadian variation? Still a beautiful example.

Good eye!

Canadian variation?? uhhh, maybe just an owner preference. I don't think Olds would build the rest of the car black and put white door panels on it. Well at least the bottom door panel carpeting is black. (I guess it's just too hard to hide the little scuffs and boot marks that sometimes end up there)
