66 442 vacuum trunk release

66 442 vacuum trunk release

I've got a vacuum trunk lock release that I will install on my 66 442, but I do not have the "shaft" that connects the vacuum motor to the lock mechanism. I am going to make one using the standard "shaft", but I need to know the length of the "shaft". Can anyone give me the length of this piece.

It's going to be more difficult than that. You need a shaft that has the spring loaded joint in it. I've got mine around here somewhere, or back home. The lock cylinder has a shaft, then there's the joint, then it goes through the latch, then into the vacuum actuator. The lock cylinder will turn both pieces of the shaft, but the vacuum actuator only turns the part going from it to the latch to the joint, and not past that to the lock cylinder.
