66 442 Dashboard/Best disc brake kit/AC
I’m adding air conditioning to my 1966 442. Looking for the dashboard with the vents…any ideas where to find one? Will a 67 dashboard work?
There are so many conversion kits to disc brakes, it’s hard to know which is the best. Any suggestions from the group?
Same question for air conditioning kits, Vintage Air, Old Air?
Thanks for any input, suggestions, ideas!!!!

Yes, a 67 dash insert will work. There's something different about the wiper hole, I think, but it should go in with little issue.
The best conversion kit is getting a factory setup from a parts car that had disc. Any aftermarket disc kit is either really expensive, or sucks. Get a factory setup and get everything, including spindles.
Some people like Vintage Air, I hear. It is difficult to make a nonAC car be factory AC, so people use ball chiller underdash units, or one that will use factory vents.

I don’t believe vintage air makes a unit for 1966 cars, I looked into it and couldn’t find anyone that does. Somebody on here used @ vintage air unit built for a chevelle but it was a lot of extra work adapting if I remember correctly.

Any of the multitude of repro 1969-72 disc brake kits that replicate the factory 10.75" rotors and single piston sliding calipers works fine. They all use the same imported parts. I've found the least expensive way to go is the Right Stuff mini-kit that includes the spindles, caliper brackets, and splash shields. The calipers and rotors are available anywhere, so local purchase can avoid shipping costs on heave cast iron parts.

By and large, aftermarket parts rarely fit as intended. The cars are close enough to make it work. Some people just expect things to fit. I am the exact opposite; I'm surprised when they actually do fit.
