65 trunk pans

Has anyone replaced an entire trunk pan on a 65?
The one thats listed at Parts Place says it needs modification...
https://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/pro...dy-panel/53343

It looks like a skylark pan.

Here's one for Tempest

And one for a chevelle

****Are they all the same except the trailing edge?
Can you use any of these?
Thanks

The chevelle is shorter. Buick, Olds, and Pontiac are about 3 inches longer. in the frame rail section. As long as you do not buy the chevelle pan I think you should be good.

B is the area that is different. The straight part of the frame rail on each side of the gas tank is 3" - 3 1/2" inches longer on the buick, pontiac and olds I want to say 3 1/2" but I would have to check to be sure. The longer frame is used on 64-67 chevelle wagons though.

This is an old thread, but you might ask Rob which one he used.

If anyone cares...I ordered the only one in stock I could find through OPGI.
Shipping was ridiculous.

I ordered the skylark pan and it's beautiful. All the braces, cage nuts, decent gauge metal that's e-coated.
I can't wait to get this in.

I'm wondering if I can slide it in from the rear as the quarter panels are so much narrower at the bottom?

do you just need to replace the trunk floor or is it rusted behind the rear tires too?

Talking

No…unfortunately someone did some repair before and did quite a number on the braces.
That plus a few rust holes…I figured it would be better to cut it all out.
Any tips?

If the car does not need quarters, your best bet is to atleast try to get it in through the back. If you are replacing the quarters or even just repairing the lower section, put it in from underneath.

The wheel houses are in good shape...and so are the quarters to my knowledge.

I'm planning on cutting it out and removing spot welds on the red dotted line.
Hopefully that will allow me to slide it in from the rear and remain on the underside of the bracing like factory.

And Duane...I'll start a new thread when I start. Might be as soon as this weekend.
