65-66-67 four speed battery tube bracket

So i had someone looking for a 66 4 speed battery tube bracket for one of my 66 4 speed tubes. I dont have any and they are not reproducing them so i made one of my own based off of the one on my 65. Its very close, with the exception of the strengthening bead on the long straight section. Can anyone confirm that that there 65,66,67 4 speed battery tube bracket looks the same. If my reproduction is correct i will be able to make them people for as needed. Thanks in advance. Brandon

Greg, just so I’m clear I know that all three years are the same part number bracket. I just want to confirm that the one that was on my 65 is correct and looks like the 66 and 67‘s before i make anymore. Thanks Brandon.

Are they different, Auto vs. Manual? This is the bracket off my 67 auto and it doesn't have the bend at the mounting point like yours. My tube is toast but still have the bracket.

Yes auto and 4 speed are different. Interesting. Was this bolted to the back of the drivers side head? Was this a cutlass 442 or big car? Thanks Brandon

Yes, bolted to the rear of the driver side head. This is off a base model 67 Cutlass Convertible. 2V 330 with a Jetaway two-speed trans. None of which I have anymore, but may someday buy a repro tube and install it on the ProComp head. Is it angled on the 4-speed to clear the z-bar? Just curious...

Could you just bend the mounting area on a auto bracket to fit as a 4 speed bracket?

No added info for 1965 442. Middle is 67 A-body.

Brandon, here is a pic from 1965 assy manual. The bracket appears to have a different part number than 66-67.

Based off of pauls scans, 65 has the same part number is 66 and 67 non 442. The one that’s on my car I am guessing is a 66 442 bracket. I bought it from member on here years and years ago. So the reproduction i made is for 66-67 442. I would like to find the correct 65 battery tube. If your interested in this reproduction PM me. If anyone has a 65 4 speed battery tube they would like to sell pm me please

The 65 tube is longer than 66-67 4 speed. The 66-67 three speed tube is same length as 65.

389409 is the PN for 65 442. Same as 66-67. Tubes show same PN also. But I’ve had both and tube were different from 65 to 66.

Fusick sells the 68 on up tube. Only difference is the bend in the bracket for the head bolt.

TK-65 All 3 years show the same part number for the tube. Do you have any of the ones you say where shorter? 68 and up are not even the same diameter as 65-67. The earlier ones are different by almost a half of an inch. And that tube doesn’t even look remotely close to original. Where did you come up with this part number 389409? I can’t find that in any literature or anywhere on the Internet.

Ok heres where the 389409 comes in for 1965. There is another page of the 65 assembly manual for just 442. So all 3 years 442s 65,66,67, have the same tube part number and the same tube bracket part numbers in the assembly manuals.

Tube length

Same part number but in reality the 65’s had longer tubes. TK addressed this in his response.
I didn’t know the 3 speed for 66 and 67 was the same as 65 442. Great info Jasen.

Can anyone confirm different tube lengths between 65 and 66/67 with pictures of original tubes?
