64-69 manual console application question

64-69 manual console application question
Can anyone confirm whether the manual console used in 64-69 cutlass/442 application is the same as the one used in the 88s and Starfires? I once had a 65 Starfire 4 speed that had been "relieved" of it's console by a thief prior to my ownership. The previous owner told me it was the same console as the cutlass. The floor mounts appeared to be positioned in similar locations to the cutlass.
If so, what years was it available for the full size cars?
Thanks, Randy

Correct That console we only available with the 4-spd in the '65-'66 B-bodies. The '65 top plate center was silver/gray, where the '66-'69 top plates had black centers.

Well, a dive into the parts catalogs proved interesting.
First of all, some basics. The manual shift console for the B-bodies was very limited:
4-spd only, for 1965 Starfire and Jetstar 1, and the '66 Starfire. There was also a console used for the the '64-'65 Jetstar 1 with the standard 3 on-the-tree manual trans, but that was the auto trans console with a block-off plate in the shifter slot.
The parts catalog shows 3 different part numbers for the top plate of the '65-'68 standard shift console:
1. 1965 big car
2. 1965 A-body
3. 1966-1969 A-body
Now I can understand the difference between '65 and '66-'69 due to the inset color difference. But now I have to find the difference between the 2 '65 versions!

I'm guessing that they originally had two part numbers because I think the three speed was one part number (no holes drilled for the 4 speed indicator) and the four speed part number was already supplied with the holes in it. In 66 they added the modification to drill the holes for the 4 speed plate.
