61 Olds Dual Exhaust

61 Olds Dual Exhaust
Has anyone put the dual exhaust drivers side manifold from a 64 Starfire on an Olds with the automatic column selector? I am looking at how the manifold exits and it looks like it might be close to the selector on the steering column. I would like to talk to someone before I dig into this.
Thanks

Cat, my 61 shop book shows the dual exhaust layout and looks like it uses the same LH manifold for single or dual exhaust. It mentions the DE system was optional on all HydraMatic equipped cars except wagons. The parts book lists only one LH manifold part # for 1961-62 except F85.
A good exhaust man should be able to run pipe and clear everything. The 61-2 engines were a little farther forward in the chassis than 63-4.

I tried the way the book shows and have a NOS pipe. Pipe has so many bends in it that it is very restrictive. That's why I spent toooo much money on the 64 Olds starfire manifold.

Heh KQQL; I've got a '62 Starfire Conv. I'm about to lower the body onto the Frame and use a left Manifold from a '63 Starfire on the Engine, so let me know if it works on your '61 'cause both cars are the same in that area of these cars except for your shift linkage. Thanx...
