58 olds
58 olds
I know that 57 olds has it's own club, they should have one for 58 olds since it is rare and certain people love. I had one years ago and when I sold it I was ok with my decision because I had my dad's beautiful 57 olds. But I still have a place in my heart for that 58. I think it was a great muscle car of it's era
I like them both but given my druthers I would take the 57 anyday over the 58. In my opinion (and that all it is) the 57 is by far the most classy of all the late fifties Oldsmobiles.... Lost in the fifties.... Tedd
As big as a 58 was, I have a hard time thinking of it as a muscle car. It is one of those cars you like or don't like. I don't think enough people have them to support a club. We rarely see one come up on this forum. I don't know if anybody on here even has one. The 58 Olds and the 58 Buick (especially the Limited) were the kings of chrome. I can't imagine trying to find missing chrome trim.
Imagine how much it would cost to have the chrome redone on a 58?
IMHO, I like the 58 better than the other 50s Oldsmobiles. Except maybe the 59. I'm sort of biased to like the 71 vs. the 72.
74 was a really good year for 98 styling.
