48 Hours to a Carolina Snowmaggedon.....
48 Hours to a Carolina Snowmaggedon.....
So all those in the know are predicting a big whiteout in 48 hours to last thru Tuesday of next week (snow, ice, freezing rain, sub 32* temps and morning black ice).
This morning it was a balmy 28* - perfect carbonated big block Oldsmobile weather. Out to the garage, a few pumps on the foot feed and the 394 roared to life. Top up but windows down with the heat on of course. Popped in a favorite Clapton album on the 8 track and took off to scare local wildlife in the countryside.
So how are you enjoying your Oldsmobile today?

Welllllllllllll, since you mentioned it. I am going to warm up the 70 Cutlass "Drag car" I bought and make sure the coolant is good to about -35. If all goes well, I will remove the Holley Avenger for overhaul and MAYBE connect the driveshaft. I should have done it yesterday when it got up to 29 degrees. Today is only getting up to 20. Currently, a few snow flurries and I am inside having my morning coffee. But it will be nice to hear the motor roar to life and idle at about 2,000 rpm's. Enjoy your ride !!!!!!!!!
The '95 convertible is taking a winter's nap at the moment. I'll wait to take her out for some exercise until the weather warms up a little and we've had a good rain to wash the salt brine off the roads.
UPDATE (18 Dec)--Now that 99 percent of the snow is gone, thanks in part to a good rain over the weekend, I took the 'vert out for a little drive yesterday for the first time since right before Thanksgiving. I drove with the top down and the windows up. After all, what's the point of driving a convertible with the top up?. Outside temperature was about 55F. It got a little chilly after about 20 or 30 minutes but it was still enjoyable. Warmer weather will be here soon...
