442 stripes

It's also interesting to note that these two with trunk stripes used decals, not paint.
FYI, there's another Olds with a trunk stripe, although arguably not applied by the "factory".

Yes, but its not the Chevelle stripes

My '69 442 was red with black stripes, a stripe just like this HO on the fender/door/quarter, with twin hood stripes, and black bottom stripes too, (and black vinyl top). I assumed it was all factory applied paint, but NO trunk stripes. 4 speed bench seat and the original 400G blown to smithereens.

Joe, my 442 had the same side stripes, upper and lower, as this Hurst , and just the twin wide hood stripes covering the hood bulges. Since it mimics this so closely could it most likely have been dealer applied ? Just curious, I sold it in DFW (Arlington) in the mid eighties.
edit; on second thought I've not seen the same layout again so not likely to be common to dealers either. Too bad !

"NOTE: YOUR RALLY STRIPES HAVE BEEN LENGTHENDED THIS YEAR TO FIT ALL 1966 OLDSMOBILES."
Typo aside, I wonder how a (1965) Vista Cruiser would look with a rally stripe? Probably pretty stupid.
