360 Kilometres…that’s less than 1 week of driving for me. It’s like buying a new car. Undercarriage still has the tags.

to bad about the engine 😜

Nothing is selling lately, and everything is overpriced. (Or I'm just old...)
Any way, unless there's gold bars in the trunk it's still not worth that.

Right. The car in the ad has a 5 liter Chevy. Says so in the ad. Which I see has been taken down.

That's odd. Base engine was a 3.8 V-6 and base V-8 was an Olds 260.

Could be. The mid-late '70s were the dawn of the "mix 'n' match" era at GM.

That thing is mint, bumpers can be changed. We got sbc's in most Pontiac's since the late 50's and the sbc in most Olds since the late 70's in Canada. The sbc was the go to V8 for cars made for the Canadian market.

Thing is, after the revised Canada-US trade deal (1969 IIRC) up to which point you could be sure of getting a Chevy engine in your Canadian Pontiac (except the Firebird, I have no idea why ...) You couldn't tell from year to year or application to application what you were going to get. I had an '81 LeMans Grand Safari wagon built in Oshawa with an actual Pontiac 301. It was not a swap, but people assured me that it must have been born with a Chevy 305.

Yeah, I remember a friend had a 78 GP with the 301. I believe the Grand Prix were also Pontiac powered during the 70's from what I have seen. An old guy had two 73's, Pontiac 400 and 455 powered.

See no way that car is 18 grand to me. Six grand and an LS swap sleeper. All day

It's kind of butt ugly. If I had it, I suppose I wouldn't want to drive it much, either.

I had one of these 35 years back or so, a low milage silver one that I bought from one of my landscaping customers. It was a horrible car to drive. Never again. I traded it in for a new 1991 Calais. The owner of the Olds Dealership (said he) loved it so I got a decent trade in $$$$ for it.

That 79 Omega was by far the worst Olds I ever owned, it will be hard to top that one.

I think it would be a nice car with a W31 type engine build and Turbo 350. Hoosier 29x7 nostalgia slicks, etc. Oh, maybe a 12 bolt or 9" or Dana diff.

1988 Cutlass with 557 miles - $50K - ClassicOldsmobile.com
I'll bet there's more than 557 miles on it now. Only reason it had a 307 in it is because all 88 CSCs had 307/TH200-4R. Wasn't even the last of the 307 V8 cars. Nobody but the current owner really cares. Besides, what's that got to do with this overpriced Omega?

You missed the fine print. If that's true, then idiots fought over it. Not real Olds guys. Someone with more money than brains. That's a fact. And I don't even have to look.

It's funny, most of the time people complain about Oldsmobile prices being too low compared to their GM counterparts. I can't blame anyone for swinging for the fence and kudos when they hit it.

Just clueless fools with more money than brains. The take that well someone was willing to pay it so it must be worth it is so lame. Overpriced is overpriced. Support of that does this hobby no good. We see it all the time anymore. Authenticity means nothing anymore here. Sucks but it is what it is. More defense for non true cars these days than I have ever seen. This car was 100 percent what it is. I will give it that credit all day. At least it wasn't a W-31 with power brakes and etc etc and defended. You want an Alfred E Newman car go get it. I am not hating on people spending money where they will never get it back. That's what you want to do go get it. This is a super super nice car. Twenty grand worth to somebody. Doesn't have to be me. Congratulations to the seller. The buyer? You won't see that money back. As was said earlier Only to a non Oldsmobile person. Clueless. But hey it's your money.

Congrats on the sale!

For what it's worth I would like to retract what I wrote about my 1979 Old Omega. I typed my initial response too quickly and I didn't think this out. In fact it was quite a cool car. Literally as the air conditioning worked great. My nickname for it at the time was, "The Mighty Omega"

It was NOT the worst Olds I ever bought, I had this confused with a 1977 Omega I bought on e-bay and I got badly ripped off. Next time I will think something out better before I write it out.
