A coupe of suggestions:
1. Post this over in the Vintage Olds forum. I think you are more likely to get an answer there.
2. Are you asking about inside or outside handle?
3. If outside, some older GM cars have an access hole at the latch end of the door and there is a set screw up in there that has to be loosened and backed out to release the shaft that goes from handle into the door latch. Then handle can be pulled out. Not sure if 41 is that way or not but its worth a look. It might take some penetrating oil including repeat applications if the screw is corroded or you might have to drill it out if the head has been boogered.
4. If inside you have to push the door panel back toward outside to see the spring clip that holds handle to shaft. A special tool is available for GM cars to push that spring clip out. Its hard to do with the tool and darn near impossible without.

Hope this is helpful. If you are going to be doing a lot of work on this car get a reproduction factory manual that covers both body and chassis. You can find them on ebay or contact someone like Faxon Auto Literature: www.faxonautolit.com

Jerry thank you very much, I had looked in that hole but didn't see the screw, I guess I will have to drill it out, Thanks again.
