Replacing the timing chain on a 330 Olds. Bolt in Cam gear Very Tight. Any Suggestions ?

 

1. Try heating it, spraying penetrating oil on it while warm and let it cool or

2. Use an impact gun, or

3. If it is severely stuck you could pack the area with rags and cut the gear off leaving the bolt intact to work on.

An impact gun shouldn't have a problem breaking it loose. Be patient and work with it, a broken bolt in the camshaft would be a headache.
